This $30 tracker looks just like a credit card — and it’s never leaving my wallet
I lose my wallet all the time. I always misplaced my Spider-Man bi-fold as a kid, and today I still constantly forget where I put my Peak Design wallet. It’s a problem. Wallet tracker cards have existed for a while as a solution to this, but I’ve never gotten around to using one — partly because putting a blatantly obvious card tracker in my wallet just seemed a little silly.

And that’s why Statik’s new SmartCard Incognito piqued my interest. It’s a fully-fledged tracker, except it looks like a regular credit card. I’ve had it in my wallet for a couple of weeks now, and I don’t plan on taking it out anytime soon.
It really does look like a credit card
I usually carry three cards in my wallet at all times: one of my Chase credit cards, my Amex Blue Cash Preferred, and my debit card. Put side by side with these, the Statik SmartCard Incognito blends in shockingly well. It has a fake chip on the front, along with “Atlas Card” branding and an expiration date. The back of the card even has a fake magstripe.
Upon closer inspection, there are signs of its tracking nature — including a location indicator on the front and a wireless charging icon on the back. The SmartCard is also a bit thicker than standard credit/debit cards, but not excessively so.
You could point at these things as evidence that the SmartCard isn’t truly “incognito,” but a tracking card is never going to look exactly like a normal credit card. It’s always going to be a piece of technology disguised as something else; it just has to have good enough camouflage that it doesn’t immediately stand out for what it is. Personally, I think Statik fully achieved that.
It’d be great if Statik offered some additional color options, but for my wallet and the cards I carry, the SmartCard Incognito fits in beautifully.
All the tracking features you could ask for
Beyond its discreet design, Statik also made sure to equip the SmartCard Incognito with just about everything you could ask for in a tracking card.
I’ve been using it with Google Find Hub, but if you’re an iPhone user, it also supports Apple Find My. If you lose the card and need help finding it, you can remotely trigger an audible alert to track it down. An IPX8 rating keeps the SmartCard protected against water; its battery is rated to last up to 11 months per charge, and you can charge it wirelessly on any Qi charger. The SmartCard Incognito doesn’t technically have MagSafe support, but I was able to charge it on a magnetic charging stand just fine.
I (thankfully) haven’t had to use the SmartCard Incognito to track down my wallet yet, but I do feel a lot better knowing it’s in there when that day inevitably comes.
The Statik SmartCard Incognito is far from your only option if you’re buying a tracking card, but I do think it’s one of the most compelling. The design is fantastic, all of the tracking essentials are present, and the price is right — coming in at $30 for a single card, $54 for two, or $76 for a three-pack.
