Following last week’s release of macOS 27.2, Apple has now kicked off the next round of beta testing with the first developer beta of macOS 27.3 Golden Gate. Here are the details.
Apple kicks off macOS 27.3 beta season
It’s been an unusually eventful few weeks for Mac users. In addition to several security releases for macOS Tahoe 26.7.2 and macOS Sequoia 15.8.2, Apple released macOS 27.2 Golden Gate lats week, with expanded language support for Siri AI and new conversation recall capabilities.
On the hardware side, Apple recently announced new M6-powered iMacs and 14-inch MacBook Pro, and the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display “with Touch,” as Apple has been addressing it.
Now, Apple is rolling out the first developer beta of macOS 27.3 Golden Gate, which will possibly include support for additional Siri AI languages, including Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish, and Vietnamese, as Apple has promised to expand availability by the end of the year.
The update also comes as Apple prepares to launch Apple Intelligence in China with iOS 27.3. However, the company has confirmed that the initial rollout will be exclusive to the iPhone, with support for other platforms coming only after the necessary regulatory approvals have been obtained.
macOS 27.3 may also most likely include further under-the-hood refinements to the macOS interface to accommodate touchscreen input, building on the new gesture recognition tools introduced in macOS 27.2.
The build number for macOS 27.3 Golden Gate developer beta 1 is 26C5035r. We are digging through the system and will report back with what we find.
