نحوه ارتباط با این ایجنت درست شبیه پیام دادن به یک مخاطب عادی است. برای راهاندازی، کاربر باید وارد پروفایل ایجنت دات در نسخه موبایل، دسکتاپ یا وب ChatGPT شود و گزینه Texting را انتخاب کند. پس از تأیید شماره تماس و ذخیره شماره مخاطبی که دات به اشتراک میگذارد، مکالمه آغاز میشود. کاربران آیفون برای این کار باید از شماره تأییدشده در آیمسیج استفاده کنند و کاربران اندروید نیز ملزم به فعالسازی RCS در اپلیکیشن پیامرسان خود هستند.

OpenAI has expanded its Dot AI agent to support text, voice, and photo messaging through Apple's iMessage and the RCS protocol on Android. Currently available in preview for ChatGPT Pro subscribers in the US, the feature allows users to interact with the agent like a regular contact without opening the app.
OpenAI has integrated support for standard smartphone messaging apps into its Dot AI agent, allowing users to delegate tasks without needing to directly open ChatGPT. This new capability is currently being offered as a preview for ChatGPT Pro subscribers in the United States, supporting Apple's iMessage and the RCS communication protocol on Android devices.
Interacting with the agent functions similarly to messaging a standard contact. To set up the feature, users navigate to the Dot agent profile within the mobile, desktop, or web version of ChatGPT and select the texting option. After confirming their phone number and saving the contact number provided by Dot, the conversation can begin. iPhone users must use a number verified with iMessage, while Android users are required to enable RCS in their default messaging app.
Once configured, users can delegate tasks, request reviews, or send audio and visual files directly through text. The AI agent replies with a message as soon as a new report is ready. The tool utilizes previous conversation history and connected channels in ChatGPT to determine how to transmit reports, though users can manage this process and specify that Dot should only send text messages when necessary, keeping routine updates within ChatGPT. If a task requires user approval, a link for direct review inside the app is sent.
Regarding privacy, OpenAI stated that the text communication occurs exclusively between the user and the Dot agent, and no access to other text conversations on the device is granted to OpenAI or its agent. The preview version also has certain limitations; it does not support group chats, direct voice calls over cellular networks, or FaceTime video calls, although in-app voice calls within ChatGPT remain accessible.
At present, using this feature is restricted to Pro subscribers in the United States, while other accounts will need to wait for a broader public rollout.
