Bad Monkey season 2 is coming next month, here’s the trailer

One of the biggest hitmakers at Apple TV is undoubtedly Bill Lawrence, co-creator of a trio of acclaimed comedies: Ted Lasso, Shrinking, and Bad Monkey.

Among the three, the Vince Vaughn-starring Bad Monkey is likely the one you’ve never heard of. But now is a perfect time to get caught up.

Bad Monkey season 2 debuts Wednesday, December 2 with one episode, followed by weekly releases through February 3.

Here’s Apple’s official plot summary, followed by the new trailer:

After Andrew Yancy (Vaughn) witnesses the murder of Florida’s finest fixer, an ambitious state attorney pairs him up with a strait-laced forensic accountant to solve the crime. Yancy finds himself embroiled in a turf war between rival criminal organizations as he navigates a variety of Florida oddballs, including an erudite mob boss, his unhinged son and a hard-edged young woman who needs Yancy’s protection. Meanwhile, Yancy contends with his aging father; unresolved romantic tension with Dr. Rosa Campesino (Natalie Martinez), who launches her own investigation into a mysterious rash; and a bombastic animal relocation specialist whose business threatens the local environment.

Joining several returning season 1 cast members is prominent addition John Malkovich. Malkovich plays a Miami mob boss that Vaughn’s Yancy finds himself up against.
